For a long time I avoided retail investing because I am financially conservative. My goal has been to grow my portfolio and put real money back into my pocket. I tend to focus on realized gains rather than longer-term potential upside.
When I was researching and learning about trading I found a lot of videos and posts referred to finding an "edge." My edge has been maintaining a narrow focus, remaining conservative, and reflecting on my trades with post-hoc analysis.
